Hahahahahha!!! Silly one, cruisers don’t have plans!!
Well, we do have intentions. Right now our intention is to keep on boating as long as we’re having a good time.
Since leaving San Francisco in November of 2015 we’ve traveleled abouts 3,000 nautical miles to the Gold Coast of Mexico where we’re currently bobbing around.
In our first season out we sailed from San Fran south along the Big Sur coast of California, down to the bottom of the Baja Penninsula in Mexico. From there we made a hard U turn and went North into the fabled Sea of Cortez. We spent several fabulous months exploring until the heat drove us into a protected marina.
We took a haitus during hurricane season to pick up some paid work and do a spot of traveling, then it was back to the boat for more exploring.
Back on board we’ve headed South again on the Mexican mainland. We officially crossed into the tropics when we dipped below 20 degrees latitude and are enjoying all the delights of a tropical latitue.
Whats next? Well, unfortunately the summer hurricane season approaches soon, forcing us to seek sheltered waters. The boat will be spending her summer in the hurricane hole of Barra De Navidad, systems shut down & safely tucked up in a slip. We’re feeling pretty good about this choice. Two years Hurricane Patricia (a biggie) made landfall over this region and despite widespread damage in the surrounding areas nary a boat in this marina was damaged.
In the meantime, we will put ourselves and the cats on a plane and head back to the states in search of gainful employment while we wait for the good cruising season to roll back around.
Beyond that? Who knows. North, South, West, East? We have lots of time between now and October to change our mind a dozen times. Stay tuned!
